How to play

Bobble is a real-time multiplayer word-rack game for 2–8 players. The host sets a round duration (1–10 minutes); when the round starts, every player sees the same eight letters and races to build as many valid words as possible.

The rules

Scoring

Each letter has a Scrabble-style value (A/E/I/L/N/O/R/S/T/U = 1 point, up to Q/Z = 10 points). The word total is multiplied by a length bonus:

LengthMultiplier
4× 1.5
5× 2.0
6× 3.0
7× 4.0
8× 5.0

Hard mode

When the host enables Hard mode, submitting a word that isn’t in the dictionary deducts that word’s raw letter-value sum from your score (no multiplier). Be confident before you press Enter — guessing in Hard mode costs. Normal mode ignores wrong guesses.

Hosting a game

  1. From the home screen, enter the name other players will see.
  2. Drag the Round length slider to pick a duration.
  3. Tick Hard mode if you want the penalty rule on.
  4. Tap Create game.
  5. In the lobby, tap Share invite to send your friends a link (via WhatsApp, Messages, AirDrop, etc.) or tap Copy code and read out the 5-character code over the phone.
  6. When everyone’s joined (you need at least 2 players) tap Start game. A short 3–2–1 countdown plays for everyone before submissions open.

Joining a game

  1. If a friend sent you an invite link, just open it. The join code is pre-filled.
  2. Otherwise, on the home screen type the 5-character code into the Join with a code field.
  3. Enter the name you want shown on the scoreboard.
  4. Tap Join. You’ll wait in the lobby until the host starts the round.

Stats

Your wins, win streaks, best single-game score, and best word ever submitted are stored locally in your browser. They survive across games but will vanish if you clear site data. There’s no account; the stats are yours and only yours.

Mute & theme

The speaker icon in the header toggles all in-game sounds; the theme icon swaps between dark and light. Both choices persist on this device.
